NAMM SHOW 2025 Bass Model

update:  publish:

Hello.

Sago will exhibit again this year at NAMM SHOW 2025 in Anaheim, USA!
We have completed the bass model that is full of enthusiasm, and we would like to introduce it to you on our blog.

1.Sago JM Bass4 Carbon Neck

1-1.Alcohol ink art painting

Alcohol ink art painting has been a recent focus at Sago.

Alcohol ink art is an art technique in which a picture or pattern is drawn by dripping alcohol ink and spreading or layering colors.
The patterns and color blotches that are created by chance are very fantastic and fascinating to the eye.

This time, CEO Takayama painted it, creating a sexy red-centered finish!
The staff’s favorite point is the purple spreading near the control section.

After painting the base white, the colors are added by dripping the main red color, sometimes by blowing air or tilting the body, so that the colors are mixed randomly.

Bursts are blown to give a tight impression, but not too black, and an elegant brown with a slight reddish tint.

Alcohol ink art painting is explained as under Blog.

1-2. Carbon Neck

We have adapted the carbon for the neck material as new material thanks to the cooperation with “Sumimaru guitar” that produces all carbon acoustic guitar.

There are instruments with carbon material but it is only made in foreign countries .
Sago has succeeded the first in Japan to produce electric guitars and basses with the domestic carbon material.

The greatest feature of the carbon neck is that it is not affected by climatic changes at all, and the best neck condition can be maintained at all times.

In the case of a wood material, even after the instrument is completed, the neck will move (bend) as the wood absorbs and expels moisture.

Even though artificially force dried thermwood is resistant to environmental changes, the neck will never move.
Carbon has no such concerns, and its greatest feature is that it continues to maintain the neck condition once set.

It also has a truss rod in place as well as a wood neck.
It is possible to adjust the string height and fine-tune the neck condition (straight, slightly forward warped, etc.).

The frets are adapted rigid stainless steel, and the side position markings are standard equipped Luminlay that glows in the dark.

To avoid the cold, rugged image of conventional resin necks, the weight is matched to that of wood neck.

In addition, the hollow construction of the neck allows it to sound like wood material.
Please refer to the sound of neck material: Hard Maple, Thermo Maple and Carbon as under video.

Therefore, the setting around the neck is critical, and keeping it in good condition is keypoint.
By introducing a carbon neck, you can obtain a stable and easy-to-play condition.

Carbon necks are currently available in 4-string bass models, 6-string guitar models, and 7-string models.
New models will be added to the lineup in the future, so please look forward to them.

3.Electronics

The greatest feature point of JM Bass is the “JM Bass Pickups” that is Sago’s original design.
Pickup coils of Precision Bass type are placed at an angle and mounted 2 units on the neck side and bridge side.

The pickup covers are leather-coated PU covers for the guitar’s Jazzmaster without holes.

With the introduction of laser processing, we have been able to develop these original pickups because we are now able to apply designs to the body and pickguard, and process pickup bobbins and covers.

Controls are Master Volume, Balancer, Tone and Series / Parallel.
These controls are same as our Stem Ove4.
It is passive but you can create various sound and play with excellent operability.

Another important feature of P-type PU is that they do not generate as much noise when used alone as J-type single coil PU.

When switching from Parallel to Series, the high tone is soft and the low sound is fatten.
In terms of the mixed sound, the Pallalel has a tighter, more clearly defined JazzBass-like sound, whereas the Series has better bass retention in long tones.

It is possible to use it like a booster in prominent places such as bass solos, etc. It not only increases the volume but also changes the tone, so we would be happy if you could explore sound creation while experimenting with it in various ways.

Please check the sound as under video.↓

As a show model, it has a light weight, excellent condition maintenance, and a unique look and sound.

2.Sago Prime Edge4 Kabuki

Show model produced for Japan EXPO 2014 in France.
※It appears in the middle of the video here.↓

This is a piece that expresses Kabuki through painting, giving you a full sense of Japan.
Prime Edge is also a model that we receive many orders and inquiries from overseas, so we wanted to showcase it in the U.S., the home of guitar shows.

It’s equipped with LED position marks and has a great impact!

3.Seed Dullahan

We have recently announced the release of Seed Dullahan that is artist model of MINA.

Looks just like Sago ver.
We have achieved comparable specifications within an affordable price range.

We have explain the detail as under video.

In addition, MINA herself will attend the NAMM SHOW and give a demonstration.
MINA has many fans in Japan and abroad.

We have received many comments on YouTube regarding MINA and Dullahan, which shows the high level of attention.
