NAMM SHOW 2025 Guitar Model

Sago will exhibit again this year at NAMM SHOW 2025 in Anaheim, USA!
We have completed the bass model that is full of enthusiasm, and we would like to introduce it to you on our blog.
1.Sago Sonia Aged Finish
1-1. Aged Finish
We have introduced new service of Aged finish on YouTube video last time.
Our new staff: Eliezer Tryee has has worked at Fender Custom Shop, Castedosa Guitar, and other instrument related places in Japan.
※Please call him “L” when you meet him at our factory or exhibition hall.
He loves Japan and he looks for the job in Kansai.
By chance, he came to visit our factory, and after hearing about his background, we decided that he wanted to make guitars in Japan, and if that was the case, we would work together at Sago.
When he worked at the Fender Custom Shop, he was in charge of the relic process!
Until now, Sago has not had the environment to perform aged finish, or the basic concept of instrument manufacturing was to deliver new instruments in shiny and clean condition.
We have been getting a lot of inquiries about the aged process.
This time of join of our L that has experience of aged finish, we are starting a new service as a cool design and painting expression!
The aged finish applied to Sonia this time is multi-layered, with a lap painting Volcano as the base coat and a burnt white over it.
Some vintage guitars have accepted multi-layering as a cool way to paint another color over the top while the color remains on the base, and the color of the base is visible from where the color has peeled off over time.
We added a lap painting to the base layer, a multi-layer that is typical of Sago.
The top coat is called checking, and cracking is created by spraying the topcoat with lacquer and cooling it rapidly with a cooling spray. In some places, the checking is done in a large freezer.
The hard aged look is very cool, as if there had been a gunfight.
It does not have to be this hard, but can be moderately aged like this bass.
Aged finish can be applied to your existing guitars and basses when you order new guitars from Sago or refinish your existing guitars and basses.
Please note that in the case of refinishing, the original paint will be removed and a new color will be applied before the aging process.
We will also ask you how much you want to age it so that it will have a cool checkered or peeled paint look.
Note that multi-layers are coated with two different colors, which results in a thicker paint film.

1-2.Aged finish for hardware parts
Along with the body and neck, hardware parts such as pegs and bridge are also aged.
It is called barrel polishing, and the hardware is placed in this barrel-shaped machine with abrasive stones called media.
Mixed with polishing stones, the polishing process dulls the parts and creates a vintage guitar-like finish.
This technique is also used for car tire wheels.
1-3.Standard Specification
Other than paint and hardware, specifications are the same as regular Sonia.
The wood materials are adapted Alder for body, Hard Maple for neck and Rosewood for fingerboard.
Pickups are also mounted Sago’s original L(x) pickups on SSH style.
We are looking forward to seeing how Sago Sonia, with its Stratocaster motif, smaller body to suit the Japanese and middle pickup near to bridge position, will be accepted in the United States, the home of guitars!
2.Sago Sonia Carbon Neck
We have adapted the carbon for the neck material as new material thanks to the cooperation with “Sumimaru guitar” that produces all carbon acoustic guitar.
There are instruments with carbon material but it is only made in foreign countries .
Sago has succeeded the first in Japan to produce electric guitars and basses with the domestic carbon material.
The greatest feature of the carbon neck is that it is not affected by climatic changes at all, and the best neck condition can be maintained at all times.
In the case of a wood material, even after the instrument is completed, the neck will move (bend) as the wood absorbs and expels moisture.
Even though artificially force dried thermwood is resistant to environmental changes, the neck will never move.
Carbon has no such concerns, and its greatest feature is that it continues to maintain the neck condition once set.
It also has a truss rod in place as well as a wood neck.
It is possible to adjust the string height and fine-tune the neck condition (straight, slightly forward warped, etc.).
The frets are adapted rigid stainless steel, and the side position markings are standard equipped Luminlay that glows in the dark.
To avoid the cold, rugged image of conventional resin necks, the weight is matched to that of wood neck.
In addition, the hollow construction of the neck allows it to sound like wood material.

Therefore, the setting around the neck is critical, and keeping it in good condition is keypoint.
By introducing a carbon neck, you can obtain a stable and easy-to-play condition.
This model was unveiled at NAMM SHOW 2023, and we are exhibiting it again so that you can compare the necks of the maple (1. aged model) and carbon.
Carbon necks are currently available in 4-string bass models, 6-string guitar models, and 7-string models.
New models will be added to the lineup in the future, so please look forward to them.
3.Seed Kirin Plus 5 frets
We are selling Kirin from Seed brand that is the artist model of guitarist Mr. Shin Ohmura (Waggahi Band: Machiya) with 5 frets extended neck same as his own model.
From a scale of 628 mm and 24 frets, 5 frets are added on the low side to create a one-of-a-kind scale of 839 mm and 29 frets.
The tuning of the open strings is “B/E/A/D/F#/B” from the bass strings, and the range of the 7-strings guitar can be played in the playing style of the 6-strings guitar.
If a capo (sold separately) is attached to the 5th fret, the guitar can be played in the same regular tuning as a normal guitar.
Based on the concept of “playing one guitar from the beginning to the end of one stage,” Mr. Ohmura instantly responds to the key of the music by moving the capo.

4.Seed Shinra – Haku –
We are selling Shinra from Seed brand that is the artist model of the guitarist : Mr. Sojiro Oki of Novelbright.
It has a Jazzmaster type body, 24fret neck, SSH pickup layout, and Oki’s cat “Haku” dug into the pickguard.
And you can listen to the sound of the performance by the person himself!↓
